Nico Echavarria Medellin, Colombia
Nico Echavarria has been around the game of golf for as long as he can remember. Born in Medellin, Colombia, his grandfather began taking him to the golf course when he was two years old. His two older brothers, Andres and Miguel, played collegiately at the University of Florida and University of Michigan, respectively. As a junior golfer, Echavarria was a member of the Colombian National team and ultimately decided to attend the University of Arkansas.
After a standout collegiate career, Echavarris turned professional in 2017 and began pursuing his dream of competing on the PGA TOUR. He played two seasons on PGA TOUR Latinoamerica before joining the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019. In 2022, Echavarria recorded a T5 finish at the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship to earn his PGA TOUR card.
Once he joined the PGA TOUR, he didn't wait long to make the most of his opportunity. In just his 11th PGA TOUR start, Echavarria captured his first PGA TOUR title at the Puerto Rico Open and became the first rookie in the 2022-23 class to win on TOUR. He recorded three top-25s throughout the season and is exempt through the 2024-25 PGA TOUR season.
